Αποχώρηση Βουλευτών από την Προανακριτική Επιτροπή

Οι βουλευτές των ΠΑΣΟΚ, ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, ΚΚΕ και Νέας Αριστεράς αποχώρησαν από τη συνεδρίαση της Προανακριτικής Επιτροπής πριν την ψηφοφορία για την κλήση του Χρήστου Τριαντοπούλου. Μαζί τους αποχώρησαν επίσης οι εκπρόσωποι της Ελληνικής Λύσης και της Νίκης, καθώς και η ανεξάρτητη βουλευτής Αθηνά Λινού.

Η αντιπολίτευση εξέφρασε έντονη διαμαρτυρία για τις πρωτοφανείς διαδικασίες που καταλογίζουν στο κυβερνών κόμμα, υποστηρίζοντας ότι είναι απαράδεκτο να καλείται ο κατηγορούμενος πριν εξεταστούν οι μάρτυρες. Η επόμενη συνεδρίαση έχει προγραμματιστεί για το πρωί της Δευτέρας 24 Μαρτίου.

Διαλόγοι με «ηλεκτρισμένο» κλίμα στην Επιτροπή

Η πολύωρη συνεδρίαση χαρακτηρίστηκε από «ηλεκτρισμένα» πνεύματα και έντονες αντιπαραθέσεις:

Κωνσταντίνα Καραμπατσώλη (ΝΔ): Το αίτημα είναι αρκετό ώστε να παραπεμφθεί η υπόθεση λόγω παράβασης καθήκοντος.Δεν θεωρούμε ότι χρειάζεται άλλη διαδικασία πέραν αυτής που έκανε η εισαγγελέας στη Λάρισα. Προτείνουμε να κληθεί ο κ. Τριαντόπουλος είτε αυτοπροσώπως είτε μέσω υπομνήματος.

Μιλένα Αποστολάκη (ΠΑΣΟΚ): Το Σύνταγμά μας δεν είναι εύπλαστο υλικό! Έχετε αλλάξει γνώμη τρεις φορές ήδη! Πώς μπορεί ο Τριαντόπουλος να επιλέγει τον τρόπο διερεύνησης των ευθυνών του; Είναι δυνατόν να ακούγεται πρώτος ο κατηγορούμενος;

Γιώργος Γαβρήλος (ΣΥΡΙΖΑ): Σύμφωνα με το νόμο, προηγούνται οι μάρτυρες και έπειτα ακολουθεί ο ύποπτος. Παραβιάζετε τον νόμο με τέτοιες πρακτικές.

The blue majority has initiated the early conclusion of the Preliminary Commitee with the call for Trianopoulos as a witness.

The former Deputy Minister does not need to appear in person before the Committee and can submit a written statement to support his request for direct referral to the Judicial Council.

This maneuver by the ruling party seems to be based on concerns about potential invalidation of proceedings if they followed through with their initial plan for a single-session closure of the Preliminary committee.

The government majority considers that the preliminary investigation conducted by the prosecutor in Larissa is sufficient and is expected to request Trianopoulos’ referral for breach of duty based on the file sent to Parliament.

Adequate Access Requests Denied by Majority Party

The opposition has requested full access to all documents related to the tragic incident at Tempi or at least those implicating Nikos Papathanasis and Giannis Tsakiris in what is referred to as “the filling issue,” but this request was rejected by those in power. The ruling party also dismissed calls from opposition members for open cameras during sessions citing previous opinions on such matters.

Apostolaki: The accused should testify last!

During this lengthy session, PASOK’s rapporteur Mílená Apostoláki reportedly denounced that “the reversal of order and prioritizing explanations from an accused violates basic principles of criminal procedure,” emphasizing that according to Criminal Procedure Code provisions, it is customary for defendants to testify last.

“You are violating both constitutional provisions and regulations governing investigative work and criminal procedure,” she pointed out while stressing that “the orchestrated cover-up continues unabated.”

SYRIZA: The Prime Minister must come forward!

The SYRIZA representatives argue that New Democracy has realized that its poorly constructed narrative within this preliminary Committee creates conditions ripe for invalidation right from inception; thus they are attempting now with Trianopoulos’ summons merely trying patch things up.

Accordingly during discussions SYRIZA presented a list of witnesses while demanding complete access regarding related documentation insisting on “a thorough conduct” throughout this preliminary inquiry process.

Moreover they clarified it’s imperative “for Trianopoulos’ principal—the Prime Minister himself—to come forth as a witness regarding responsibilities surrounding Tempi.”
